Activity ticked up during the month but still trails last year’s pace through the first quarter, according to Dodge Construction Network.

The structure, which was at the center of a prolonged funding fight, will feature mass timber and sustainability components.

Part of a larger $7 billion initiative, the improvements at Port Arthur, Texas, will protect the area’s petroleum processing hub. 

Neither the MTA nor the DOT has disclosed how the takeover will affect project timelines or ongoing construction activity at the site.
